Hermitage, Leningrad, by May 1932 [the drawing was included in the May 26, 1932, Hermitage sale, at C. G. Boerner, Leipzig, as lot 48, but was not sold according to F. Carlo Schmid of Boerner]. Private collection; sold, Christie's, London, March 26, 1968, anonymous sale, lot 77, to John P. Hardy [according to Hartford 1976]. Sold by Paul Drey Gallery, New York, to the Art Institute, 1968.
